It is derived from a very great passion that I have for the cars. The majority of people who work in the health world, we always try to do something different to disconnect a little from the subject. So I found those spaces to distract myself. In the carts I've been 12 years, but running in the circuit circuit, three.
Why did you link children to the racing world?
Some guys from the Last Curve website invited me to an event with children from the Giraka Foundation, which is in the Paraiso neighborhood in Ciudad Bolívar. They wanted me to take the race car so they knew it and that was where my motivation was born. It was very nice, because they got up and asked about a world they were totally unaware of.
What do you do with them?
I wanted to invite them to the racetrack. In April, Children's Day, with my sponsors we organized a bus with all the logistics of the case. We took the kids to the racetrack, they had never seen it, and it was wonderful for them. From there other things have come out. The boys from Última Curva do Saturdays with them on cars and we have scheduled new visits to the races.
What is your goal in sharing your passion for cars with kids?
Many people think that the only sport that can transmit these smiles and that energy is football. There are a lot of people on the racetrack and in different categories, but nobody has ever cared for anything other than getting into his car and running. It is an expensive sport and I wanted to bring it closer to more people.
Why did you choose your audience to be them?
I have a very small baby and she was not very sympathetic that I ran at the racetrack, because I said something was going to happen to me. He even closed the door of the apartment and not let me in because he came running. But I gained his heart, I invented the cap with the number of the cart and I taught him of the races; Now she is going to see them with her friends.
What is the most memorable moment with the children at the racetrack?
Once a girl said that when she was big and had money, every day she would go to the racetrack. It was something that shocked us all. Another day, my sponsors (BBG Scales, Dental Implants MIS and Honda Automobiles) gave some kits to paint and they were delighted drawing all the cars that were in the race track.
Do you have any messages for the other pilots?
The invitation is to make our happiness radiate to others. One wants to enjoy his car and his triumph no matter who is on the rostrum. It is a very competitive sport that because of its costs and the environment in the race makes you selfish, but this type of activities have taken effect, they realize that one can enjoy the theme of the car otherwise.
What have you learned from children?
You can have a lot of fun with very little. To do it in the racetrack you have to invest a lot of money to everything, you have to sacrifice time of your family because you are very early there, it is a lot of sacrifice in several things and I see that the children enjoy it. For them, an autograph signature or a sanduchito watching cars pass is their happiness and that is what remains in my heart.
